When the team at Ipswich City Council asked Click Click how we could create an experience no one had ever seen before for the Ipswich Youth Film Festival, we knew our Robot Sketch Photo Booth was the answer.
They wanted guests to be drawn in with curiosity and leave excited to tell their friends and family about it.
When you think about a film festival celebrating young creative talent, what immediately springs to mind?
For us, it was bringing together artistry and the latest in AI technology — live robot artists sketching real-time portraits of every guest.
Our goal was to create a photo booth experience that blended seamlessly into the theme and was far from the average photo booth experience.
We programmed our robot artists to draw detailed portraits of guests’ faces on custom branded sketch cards designed to look like film strips — tying the experience directly into the festival’s film theme.
Guests stepped up, struck a pose, and watched as the robots brought their sketch to life in front of them.
All guests received their sketch on the spot to take home.
Over 1.5 hours, our robot artists completed more than 80 sketches for guests at the festival.
Everyone loved it — guests were filming the robots sketching and showing their friends and family their finished artwork.
